Earthquakes are among the most destructive and enduring natural disasters on Earth, causing significant loss of life and property throughout human history. National politicians and administrative bodies bear a crucial responsibility to mitigate the societal impacts of earthquakes as quickly as possible. Strengthening societal resilience is of vital importance for Türkiye, a country geologically situated on fault lines and facing a high risk of earthquakes. This study aims to present a bibliometric overview of research regarding earthquake risk management and awareness, both globally and within Türkiye. A bibliometric analysis method was employed for this study. Data were sourced from the Web of Science (WoS) database, and analyses were conducted using the R programming language. The results indicate that research on earthquake risk management and awareness peaked globally in 2020 and in Türkiye in 2023. Publications originating from Türkiye predominantly emphasize earthquake-resistant structures, risk assessments, and disaster awareness—keywords that align with trends observed in other studies. Globally, in terms of centrality and density, the concepts exhibiting the strongest interconnections are earthquake, preparedness, risk, hazard, model, vulnerability, management, awareness, disaster, and resilience. In the context of Türkiye, the most prominent keywords are earthquake, impact, management, and preparedness. The findings are expected to foster a deeper understanding of concepts related to "earthquake risk management and awareness" and to offer recommendations for researchers and policymakers.
