Janice

Janice Roman-Tamesis is a communication and media studies scholar, assistant professor, and researcher whose work focuses on urban studies, place-based inquiry, and the politics of representation in the Philippines. Her sustained engagement with Tondo studies began in 2013, making Tondo a long-standing center of her scholarly work. Born and raised in Tondo, Manila, she brings to her research a rare combination of lived proximity and critical reflexivity in discourse and practice.
