Abdul Bari Hejran is a virologist and Director of Academic Research at Helmand University, Afghanistan. He earned an MSc in Virology from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan. His research interests encompass emerging viruses, molecular epidemiology, viral evolution, and host–pathogen interactions, with a particular focus on influenza D virus surveillance.
