Description

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly transformed the nature of spine work, particularly in the Information Technology (IT) sector, accelerating remote and hybrid work arrangements and reshaping the boundaries between professional and personal life. For women in IT, these changes have created both new opportunities and persistent challenges in managing work responsibilities, family commitments, personal well-being, and career aspirations. This chapter presents a qualitative systematic literature review examining the evolving work-life balance of women in the IT sector in the post-COVID-19 era. It synthesizes existing research to identify major themes, challenges, coping mechanisms, organizational practices, and emerging workplace trends influencing women's work-life experiences. Particular attention is given to remote and hybrid working, increased work demands, flexibility, caregiving responsibilities, work-family boundaries, mental well-being, career progression, and organizational support. By bringing together insights from the existing literature, the chapter highlights how the post-pandemic workplace has altered women's experiences of work-life balance and identifies gaps requiring further scholarly attention. The findings offer useful implications for organizations, HR professionals, policymakers, and researchers seeking to develop more inclusive, flexible, and sustainable work environments for women in the IT sector.
