Pakistan's Agriculture and Economy is characterised by mix challenges and reforms. The Country is pursuing market oriented frameworks and private sector led growth including initiatives like new farming technologies, increased foreign investment particularly from Asian and Middle East countries. The Economy is showing signs of stabilization and recovery with projections for real GDP growth between 2.5% and 3.0% supported by factors like macroeconomic stability lower inflation and recovering private investment. Agriculture contributed to 23.54% of the GDP and grew by 0.56% in the Fy 2025. Livestock sector continue to be the backbone of agriculture contributing 63.3% of the Agric GDP and showing 4.72 % growth with consistent output and strong rural dependence. The percapita income has risen to approximatly $1824 a 9.7% increase from the previous year driven by improved economic activity and a stable exchange rate. Inflation has decreased sharply with a record low of 0.3% in April 2025. Some of the challenges were recent floods have caused significant economic losses and climate change and youth unemployment remain a major vulnerability. To achieve more robust and sustainable growth, the country must press forward with more difficult structural reforms and manage challenges like high debt burden and climate related risks.
