This paper represents findings whether social media provides an effective platform for marketing Brunei’s fast food industry specifically in fast food restaurants. It analyzes Facebook and Instagram marketing practices and tools, their benefits and concerns associated with this type of social media marketing. The paper has started with the general environment of social media, understanding the social media platforms’ effects and benefits and to have better perceptions of social media marketing. The biggest and most used social media site, Facebook and Instagram was given special attention. From both of these social media’s introduction to their marketing strategy development, a literature review and data collections of interview and non-participatory observation guided this research.
