I am Richard N. Sam, a Liberian by nationality. I work at the Sustainable Development Institute (SDI) on community rights and corporation governance. I work to ensure that tropical forests are sustainably and inclusively governed to mitigate and adapt to climate change, fulfill human rights, and safeguard local livelihoods, increase the participation of local communities in policy and decision making regarding their land rights and forest rights, and lobby and advocate against deforestation.
