This new book, 'Grappling With Urban Solid Waste Technology Solutions in Uganda,' provides practical engineering solutions for the effective management of the current municipal solid waste menace that keeps worsening, with endless piles of all categories and volumes of unsorted solid waste. The current volume of municipal waste accumulation in Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) has resulted in an unsustainable waste collection and disposal situation without any abatement so far. This new book offers simple, practical, realistic, and affordable green engineering technology options for effective and efficient municipal waste management for daily sustainability. The book emerged from a practical hands-on pilot investigation by the main author with a focus on the northern division of Kampala City Authority, specifically Kawempe Division. It contains a step-by-step account of how KCCA's municipal solid waste can be managed with green technology to create a smart city in Uganda.
